Review of I Spit on Your Grave (2010) by Jacob D — 22 Feb 2011
A harrowing, gut-wrenching film about a young woman who is terrorized, gang-raped, and left for dead in a bumfuck Louisiana town; only she survives, and comes back to wreak over-the-top revenge on her attackers.
I know, it's a bit of a trite plot these days, but I've only seen a few that really are worthwhile; this and the Last House on the Left remake are among them. The acting was IMO pretty good for a handful of 'nobodies,' with key performances by Sarah Butler (who is put through all kinda of hell) and Jeff Branson.
I have the original on my que to watch, but for now this will have to stand with a solid 4/5 (8/10), if you can stomach it.
