Review of I Spit on Your Grave (2010) by Marlon W — 23 Feb 2011
Granted, I have not seen the original work, but this offering is cerebral enough. A cast of little known actors guides this tale of feminine revenge brewed long and slow in the backwoods of America's heartland.
An author is raped repeatedly by some hicks and a no-good sheriff, who then decide to kill her. She escapes into a river and plots her revenge over a couple months. My only qualm is that the deaths are over way too soon.
A plan like that should have had them in agony for a couple of days. The death sequences are SAW-esque in nature, but very well thought out, keeping in mind a ninety pound woman would have to put them together.
Grotesque in its execution, a must see for the horror buffs, even though it isn't one.
