Revenge thrillers can walk a fine line between torture porn and semi-torture porn. Remakes are twice as difficult because the filmmaker has to decide whether or not to stray from the source material. This 'revenge' porn film is just as vulgar and disgusting as the original albeit improved budget and acting but to what end? The filmmaker should have strayed right past this and on to something just as forgettable but with a better after-taste.
