Review of I Sell the Dead (2008) by Shawn-Ray M — 15 Jul 2010
Visually interesting but lacking in substance, I Sell The dead is a very bizarre movie. Branding itself as a horror/comedy I didn't find too much to laugh at, but the movie managed to hold my interest in just the sheer surreality of it.
Apparently, in the fictional form of Ireland in the story, graverobbing (and selling, incidentally) is quite the occupation, with diverse and unique characters that also seem to double as serial killers, brigands, and other various types of villains.
It fits well into the realm of comic books, which the movie sometimes shows us by sketching over a still frame for effect. An enjoyable 85 minutes can be found here, but it feels like there should be more going on, that this is only part of a story rather than the entire story itself.
