Yeah, that is how I felt watching this movie. This has to be one of the biggest misfires and misuses of talent I have seen in quite some time. Hiddleston is great as Williams but the awe wears off very quickly since the movie is a complete bore.
We just see Hank and his wife, played by Olsen, fight about him being a bastard. It is incredibly shallow and boring. I didn't listen to Williams, but I know he is a legend and he definitely deserved better than this.
Yes, it is as cruddy as you have heard.
