Review of I Saw the Devil (2010) by Chris B — 30 Jun 2011
"Shockingly violent" sums it up as multiple reviews have stated and they aren't kidding, blood and severed limbs are commonplace for films of this nature. Be that as it may, the film is amazingly done and showcases a man becoming a monster in order to make the monster who killed his wife suffer to the most extreme.
Instead of just beating him and killing him as most films are content with, Agent Soo-hyun doesn't stop there but actually lets him live and tracks him via a GPS he inserted into Kyung-chul, (the woman killing/butchering psychopath) in order to keep inflicting severe beatings on him.
The film is well paced, brilliantly acted and handled with care by Kim Jee-woon who is really showing his versatility as a director. Highly Recommended if you can stomach the brutal beatings and gore associated with them.
