Review of I Saw the Devil (2010) by Prabhat R — 18 Aug 2011

I was hooked from the stark brutality of the very first scene! A fantastic combination of scenes from the desperately sad to graphic horror. Ji-woon Kim knows how to makes a movie that will keep you enthralled!

Although this is quite plainly a tale of revenge it contained what I can only describe as elements of unwilling superhero. The protagonist was not, as the synopsis suggests, becoming unhinged in my opinion. His journey was clear but the true measure of the man was not clear until the very end.

Choi Min-Sik remains an outstanding talent! Pretty much every movie he goes near is solid gold.
