Review of I Saw the Devil (2010) by Aric H — 22 Oct 2011
I Saw The Devil.
I had been on the look for the films, like 'The Chaser' and finally I got this wonderful thriller/horror/ film. This film has got several elements like that of 'The Chaser' another Korean film. I simply loved the cinematography work on the film from Lee Mo-gae, throughout the film it camera-work that kept the thrill and sense of macabre-situation in focus. Duration of the film was really lengthy but it deserved it, and for the love of such films, even greater time makes no difference; at-least to me. Film carries, violent and horrendous death-scenes, which stir a lot of boost to movie's horror-climate.
Performance from Choi Min-sik is astonishing as always, I started liking him from the movie 'Oldboy', and it was rather shock to find him in such a role of serial-killer, I had been envisioning him as a villain, since watching him in Oldboy.
