Review of I Saw the Devil (2010) by Stephen C — 07 Feb 2012
Powerful and extremly Violent serial killer thriller from South Korea which takes some of the cliches of the serial killer film and turns them on its head.
Kyun Chul is a ruthless serial killer who makes the mistake of Killing the girlfriend of Dae- Hoon a special agent who decides to carry out a murderous revenge experiment on the killer.
What follows is a revenge tale featuring lashings of violence metered out against Kyun as he tries to claim more victims and Dae - Hoon becomes more like the person he is pursuing piece by piece.
Even though the film is over 2 hours long it never becomes stale ,this is mainly due to the two leads giving it their all and Director Ji -woon Kim showing us the darker side of personal vengence .
My advice would be prepare to cover your eyes in some parts and see the film before it gets remade tamley by and American studio.
