Review of I Saw the Devil (2010) by Craig T — 04 Mar 2012
A shocker of a film that is every bit as gruesome, and nearly as psychologically disturbing, as the notorious Oldboy. A special forces cop learns that his wife has been brutally murdered by a lunatic. He takes it upon himself to find this maniac and exact revenge.
But this is just the beginning of the plot, and the less known the better. Just be prepared for a gruesome and disturbing film. Technically, the film looks wonderful - terrific direction, fine acting, beautiful photography.
However, the film does tend to exaggerate some scenes often bordering on preposterous. Nevertheless, the film is so compelling, it certainly must be recommended.
