Review of I Saw the Devil (2010) by Dennis F — 18 Mar 2015
Looked very interesting as many Asian flicks often do. It's as different as I want it to be - it's a typical revenge story with some rather original touches. It's nothing like a Hollywood-flick. Very gory and brutal with loads of visual grossness.
I thought it was more of a horror flick, but it was pretty much a graphic thriller.
It's well produced, it looks great on screen and mostly OK actors deliver all right.
The good-guy character is not a great match for me, but the bad-guy (also seen in OldBoy) is fitting. Tthere are so many things here bothering me. The cops are acting like imbeciles and the main-guy is also making some rather stupid actions. It's also very long. I get fed up by it so the last thirty minutes is something I didn't pay much attention too.
Interesting, pretty and brutal film with some entertainment value. Also a stupid film that feels repitative and rather pointless.
4 out of 10 poop-proof GPS-capsules.
