Review of I Saw the Devil (2010) by Anna B — 22 Nov 2015
Disappointing in its prurient revelling in the torture, rape, and murder of women, and then its clichéd use of that as a device for men to emote about and exact vigilante vengeance for. It remains artlessly and self-consciously lurid rather than viscerally disturbing for most of its length, despite Kim's below his usual standard but still pretty decent chops as an action filmmaker.
Amazing to me though, that this plot could emerge from the same industry that produced Sympathy For Mr. Vengeance.
