Combine Will Smith's unerring ability to bring even the most out-there movie plots down to earth, Akiva Goldsman's respectful yet lighthearted treatment of Isaac Asimov's classic stories, and Alan Tudyk's gentle and insightful Sonny, and you've got an excellent sci-fi flick that also has quite a lot of heart.
