Review of I, Robot (2004) by Chris W — 29 Apr 2012
While the film is something of an insult to the author Isaac Asimov (of which the film is very loosely based on one of his short stories) as he disliked robots-take-over-humanity stories, by itself it's a passable, albeit predictable, sci-fi thriller.
The Three Laws of Robotics, at the center of the film and Asimov's works, makes for a good central conflict and the action scenes can be quite impressive at times. Will Smith, as always, is a very charismatic main lead.
It's entertaining enough, but fans of Asimov should probably be wary. It really has nothing to do with works, besides from the laws and a few characters.
