Review of I, Robot (2004) by Jen H — 27 Oct 2012
I just re-watched this movie in 3D and really enjoyed it. The post-production 3D was well done, and lends well to the film. Although released before the resurgence of 3D, it was almost as if this one was filmed with it in mind.
The CGI looks well and even more so with the 3D conversion. The plot is a solid murder mystery with plenty of action, set in a future where robots are common place in society. Smith plays a cop who is tasked with figuring out whether a robot was involved in the death of a prominent scientist.
I don't know why this film wasn't a bigger hit at the box office and was panned by the critics. I found it quite fun and interesting throughout.
