Review of I, Robot (2004) by Shane D — 29 Apr 2014
As with is the case for a lot of science fiction films of the early 2000's, CGI heavy films tend to not hold up when revisited. Either the CGI has been horribly outdated or stylistically they've become overly corny.
I remember thinking this was a solid action/science fiction film back when I first watched it and I was surprised that it hadn't faded too badly over the years. Will Smith was still a star on the rise back here and carries the film single handedly.
It ends up being a vehicle for social justice messages (perhaps to its detriment) but yet it is still a very solid 3 star film.
