Review of I Origins (2014) by Matthew F. J — 10 Aug 2015

An interesting concept and a strong direction from Mike Cahill propel this film into a superior dimension. The story is very interesting and slowly builds up to something far more intriguing than the preview could let it suggests.

The cast is perfectly in tone with the film and Michael Pitt confirms how talented, versatile and driven he is as an actor, choosing mostly independent vehicles rather than jumping on the big budget pop corn movies like most of his peers end up doing these days.

There is nothing wrong with it of course, but Pitt seems to build himself a sort of Jonny Depp's career and I mean the Johnny that we loved in the 90's, the pre-Pirates-era one. I really enjoyed the way the film was shot and how it came all together towards the end.

definitely one of the most interesting film of 2014.
