Review of I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry (2007) by Roman C — 25 Jul 2013
I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry was an oddly unrealistic comedy about homosexuality. But instead of feeling like they were supporting it and trying to get a message across, it felt more like they were making fun of it.
I guess it's good how they show how some homosexuals are treated in this society and maybe that is the message, to make us stop. Make us see that everyone's just the same and that we should treat them that way. But I just didn't see the point of it. The scenes that you could see were meant to be funny, just weren't.
The movie had a storyline that was a bit too complex to fully comprehend, the movie didn't really have any turning points that made you want to continue watching it or a conflict resolution that made it feel finished once the end credits started rolling.
I guess I just never really understood what it was I was watching. And seeing as the acting from Adam Sandler and Kevin James was absolutely atrocious it didn't exactly make it better. I managed to sit through it, just about, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else.
