Review of I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry (2007) by Rev.r. — 03 Sep 2007
The fact that our culture can make this shallow, stereotypical, predictable movie a $100 million plus success, while seeming unable to stomach Brokeback Mountain only reveals that we are not yet close to dealing with this very serious issue.
Humor can be an art form that enlightens; however, here, it demeans and insults our intelligence. This is nothing more than "Let's make good money by poking fun at homosexuality, and the end do a Seinfield, 'not that there's anything wrong with that.
'" Shame on all involved in the making of this thoughtless, artless, work of ridicule.
