Review of I Melt with You (2011) by Kyle A — 13 Apr 2012
Throw in a dash of Malick montage & theme, a hint of Bay lighting, and a pinch of drugged-out Stone and you have the recipe for Mark Pellington's "I Melt With You", a mid-life crisis film following four friend's annual vacation together.
The four leads, played by Thomas Jane, Jeremy Piven, Rob Lowe, and Christian McKay, light up the screen with raw, unrelenting emotion. The performances, coupled with kinetic framing and lighting, make it impossible to keep your eyes from the screen, even if the subject matter is sometimes a daunting process to compute.
