Review of I Melt with You (2011) by Zack B — 09 Mar 2013
Perfect example style over substance. The movie looks and sounds good (thanks to a vibrant soundtrack) and yeah there's some decent acting (mostly thanks to Thomas Jane, who I maintain is one of the most underrated actors).
But the emotionally explosive moments are silly and hard to take seriously when the film doesn't let us even know the characters and why they're doing what they're doing. It was shot and edited in a way that made it seem like an endless succession of music videos, each made with the same four characters throughout.
Thus, style over substance, and thus, a huge fuckin disappointment.
