I was surprised at how much I liked the movie. I'm not a big Jim Carrey fan, but I thought he was really good in this. I have heard that many people dislike the movie because they think it perpetuates stereotypes about gay people that are unflattering, but I would say that it isn't a movie about the plight of gay people.

It's about a particular story. Not everything has to have a message or speak from a soapbox.
