Review of I Love You Phillip Morris (2010) by Kyle J — 14 Jun 2011

I very much enjoyed this film. When it was released it flew right under my radar, which is a bit strange since a semi-serious Jim Carrey movie is something I'm always on the look out for. Here he is blissfully over the top and yet it fits the premise and the plot so well that you never question it.

What I really enjoyed about the film was it's mix of tones. From hilarious dark comedy to surprisingly effective tenderness to pretty heavy drama it all seems honest and fleshed out. All the performances are great and the fact that it's a true story really makes it pop.
