This film - misleadingly - is not about cigarettes. From slapstick comedy to serious gay bio-drama, this movie is difficult to pin down. Neither Jim Carrey not Ewan McGregor's character were likable, the sexuality was dealt with distastefully, and the protagonists were con-men, resulting in an uncomfortable and unengaging experience.
Even the sentimental moments seem insincere.
