Haven't seen something like this before: Jim Carrey toned it down a notch. It was refreshing to see him take on a role such as this and he nailed without turning into a rubber band on speed. His ability to achieve the happy medium of seriousness and comedy is what drives this movie, as well as the powerful chemistry between himself and Ewan McGregor.
A splendid example of how all dramedies should be.
