Review of I Love You Phillip Morris (2010) by Paul E — 14 Oct 2012
Funny, sad and infuriating, this based-on-a-true story flick was pretty damn good. Carrey is excellent as a con man who, after meeting the man of his dreams, concocts bigger cons to keep them "in the money.
" It earns its R-rating (lots of sex and foul language), but it made me laugh out loud several times and it will make you cry - until a twist at the end made me want to throw something at the screen.
Since the twist is real, however, it didn't ruin the movie. This movie has a relatively low rating on Flixster - I can only imagine it's because of the subject matter. Sorry and sad for those folks - it's a really good film!
