Review of I Love You, Man (2009) by Briant — 19 Apr 2009
One of the funnier male "gag" films I've seen in a while, possibly the best since Judd Apatow's "Knocked Up". We actually have an origianal premise here, a straight guy seeking males that I don't recall seeing before.
The results are very funny. Not only do we have a funny movie on its own terms, but it operates successfully as a satire on all of the "buddy" movies out there. It had the right mix of vulgarity and heart.
Paul Rudd is a gifted comic actor of the understated variety, I've always enjoyed his performances as side characters. (I even loved his John Lennon in the Dewey Cox movie). And it's not as bad a date movie as some might surmise.
