Review of I Love You, Beth Cooper (2009) by Joe D — 04 Jan 2010
This feels like an attempt to recreate that 80's teen film feel, but it doesn't quite make it. All the actors, with the possible exception of Miss Panettiere, look like they probably haven't darkened the halls of a high school since some time around 1998.
This film should be better. It's directed by Chris Columbus, most known for helming a few Harry Potter films recently, but he directed "Adventures in Babysitting" and spent quite a bit of time under the wing of John Hughes who pretty much invented this genre.
