Review of I Love You, Beth Cooper (2009) by Kofi F — 27 Nov 2010

This movies plays like a nerds porno. Teenage man child attempt to get "out of his league" popular girl played by Hayden Panettiere fresh off her role in the popular TV show Heroes. I loved her in Heroes but I think her character in this movie is underdeveloped and seems to be living from one moment to the next with no real thought process. She acts like a prostitute with less emotion. The other characters overact and do not feel real. Everything that the characters do is random and only to advance the storyline. They go to his house for the "party", they try their hand at cow tipping, they start to strip. This series of highly unlikely events might have been interesting if they led to some character development or change of some sort and not just get to the pussy screaming "Here's Johnny!!". The only things that I like about this movie were the flashbacks reminiscent of Family Guy and American Dad; they were fun and random but sadly VERY rare. Hayden seemed to be just going with the flow not feeling any of the lines she was spewing. You start to wonder whether his attraction to Beth Cooper is more than just skin deep. And he's got some nerdy chick fawning over him and he doesn't even care. At least she has some morals and isn't a complete whore...Like Beth.

Bad movie. Good moments. Bad Movie!!!!
