Review of I Love You, Beth Cooper (2009) by Victor F — 10 Jul 2011
With a better script (although Larry Doyle adapted his own novel) this could have been a delight... but then again, Doyle's previous credits include "Duplex," "Looney Tunes: Back In Action" and that weak episode of "The Simpsons" when the kids were on curfew, so it could have been worse.
It does work more often than not (the towel fight is a gem) and Hayden Panettiere is as adept at playing normal (albeit flawed) cheerleaders as she is at playing superpowered ones. Paul Rust's good as well, even if (unlike Hayden) he has some difficulty passing as a teenager.
