Review of I Know Who Killed Me (2007) by Chad F — 03 May 2009

I was expecting a shitty hack and slash movie in the vein of I Know What You Did Last Summer, Scream, or something as terrible as Soul Survivors... but I was pretty far off. This movie tried harder to be something almost Lynchian, but with gratuitous gore sequences that were hardly necessary; reminiscent of modern torture porn flicks like the Saw series.

The script was non-linear and poorly written that I couldn't help but feel bad, scene after scene after scene. I was laughing a majority of the movie and it's fault. Lohan is not a terrible actress but nothing could save this horrid story.

The writer/director tries time after time after time to throw us off guard with unexpected twists, but unfortunately the mass of them make no sense and hardly relate. Even the editing was poor (cheesy and amateurish) which is actually pretty rare with Hollywood movies these days - especially ones that make it to the big screen.

I have to admit, I was entertained all the way through but only because of how terrible it was. I do like movies that are all over the place, but this one just doesn't work. It's just trying too hard.

Sorry cast and crew - you've got a true stinker on your hands.
