Review of I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997) by Mark D — 04 Nov 2010
It's mildly entertaining, even if only for the star-studded cast who were all early in their careers, and the occasionally suspenseful scene or gory kill. That being said, it is painfully formulaic and redundant, and like many poorly conceived slasher flicks before it, it descends into a series of scenes wherein the killer teleports unrealistically from location to location.
It's one of those films that now exists in the limbo of uninspired '90s slasher flicks from the post-Scream era, but it stands out more than most thanks to the cast and the initial popularity it received upon release.
Nevertheless, it is the definition of mediocre, and I actually found myself thinking about scenes from Scary Movie and laughing to myself various times.
