Review of I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997) by Rick D — 30 Dec 2012
Although the movie is scary it has exciting moments. Some of the typical scream-scenes were a bit annoying. They were also odd. Like, how did the killer get rid of the body in the trunk so quickly, how did he survive when he was so obviously drowned at the bottom of the sea, and why did he carry one of the characters a long way with his hook into another room to be found by Sarah Michelle Gellar's character for no reason, since he didn't hide anything and had no reason to carry her around?
Those small oddities don't ruin the movie, but they make it look a bit curious. The film could have perhaps been better, but it wasn't so bad. Jennifer Love Hewitt's character was most interesting because she could use her brains, while the others were just being plain silly.
The film gets a bit boring midway to the film, since a lot of the tension is built around the characters waiting for something to happen, and then when that something doesn't happen for a long while, it kind of peters out. Still, this very famous "scary" movie is all right.
