Atmospheric, with some parts being genuinely chilling. Nice character contrasts, with Ryan and Sarah being the badass couple (they were again cast as such in Cruel Intentions) and Freddie and JLH being the nicer duo.
This was released a year after Scream but shouldn't be compared to the aforementioned movie because this is its own little thriller, with exciting turns down to the last minute. I even had a nightmare about this movie, where Freddie Prinze Jr was standing in a boat saying "I know what you did last summer," intensely.
