Review of I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997) by Crazii B — 04 Jan 2009
Not really a scary movie but enough to make you jump a few times. I personally don't really find the slasher films to be all that scary because I can tell myself that it's just a movie, but it did a good enough job at just getting under your skin.
The acting in it was not that great but the teenage super-star actors made the film what it was. These characters are what made this film as popular as it was, I'm sure. The story line of a dead guy coming back to haunt is a typical teenage horror flick and the shady guy lurking in the shadows was to be expected.
The scenes of dead bodies was grotesque enough to give you a jump but not to haunt you over and over. And the killing scenes were fake enough that you know no one was really hurt in the process. Overall the film was a normal horror film that frightened you at the time, but you were over it after your rational mind took over.
