Review of I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997) by Cecille_Kawai23 C — 04 Jun 2010
All these critics and amateur reviewers keep complaining about teen horrors and how the acting in it is SOOO bad that it's cringe-worthy. Bullshit. They are teenagers so in turn they will act like teenagers and yes for adults teenagers are very dull and boring but what's the point of complaining if there acting out their roles perfectly? Fools.
4 teenagers hit a person with a car while there partying for the fourth of july, dump the dead body in lake and swear not to ever talk about it again. But was he really dead?
One year letter signs start happening to the teenagers to show that maybe they should have checked that he was dead first before "Drowning" him in the lake. What happens next is a string of acts done by this fisherman with a huge hook to scare the kids before preparing to murder all four of them on the same day they sent him to an almost watery grave.
The main negative I thought that really brought this film down was the lack of scares and tension from the actual killer himself (until the end). The classics such as Halloween are prime exmaples of how tension is build up to a point of exploidng and nowadays most horror/slashers miss this out.
All round a pretty dam solid slasher with enough blood and gore to please everyone, and unbelieveable one of the few good slashers which is not an 18.
3/5.
