Review of I ♥ Huckabees (2004) by Doctor S — 11 Jan 2009

Why not, I'll award 4 stars for the refreshing looseness and unpredictable trajectory of this comedy of existential thought. I really like how the characters embrace the film's reality without blinking an eye, and it's up to us the audience to keep pace.

Dustin Hoffman is a treat in his role as a slightly addled metaphysical guidance counselor, and even Mark Wahlberg gets into the swing with some of the best comedic moments. A film about life-changing ideas that doesn't take itself seriously - what a concept!
