Review of I ♥ Huckabees (2004) by Antonio S — 24 Nov 2010
It's too zany and too goofy to be taken seriously, even for a comedy. There's a pretty blatantly anti-Christian scene, which is kind of an obviously propagandist move for a movie all about existentialism. I mean the film is about various points of view on the proper way to live life, and they take the time to put in that scene- subtle, no?
That aside, it's not a terrible film, but you have to have a certain sense of humor to like it. What sense that is, I'm not sure. It's redeemed by a few good performances, most notably Jason Schwartzman's and Dustin Hoffman's.
