Review of I ♥ Huckabees (2004) by Russell B — 22 Dec 2008
An unusual and philosophical film that has a really interesting premise. Unfortunately, the plot seems to lose its way somewhere around the 45 minute mark and spends the rest of the film meandering around, wondering where it was going to begin with.
The ideas the film addresses about the interconnectedness of the universe and time and space are fun little philosophical ponderences, but the filmmakers chose not to focus on said ideas and instead opted to focus on just how weird and quirky the characters are.
That being said, the performances are good, and the brief examinations of life, the universe and everything and cool and rather inciteful. But if that kind of philosophical pondering is your thing, you might as well watch "What The Bleep Do We Know".
