Review of I ♥ Huckabees (2004) by Jeremy H — 02 Nov 2009
As much cross criticism as I hear about this film, I enjoyed it. It had a Wes Anderson style to it in its eccentric dialogue and long shots but it fell short of having the heart Wes' usually drives in his films.
Hoffman and Tomlin are a neat comedic and peculiar duo, that I really liked. It almost pushes it too far with its philosophical undertones but makes up with Schwartzman's search for acceptance. More artsy than most would appreciate.
But I thought it a well made and inspiring film.
