If you go in with the wrong mindset, it can easily come off as pretentious hipster garbage. But if you just relax and let the movie work over you, it's very good stuff. The plot is really unique and unlike anything else, and the dialogue, particularly from the strong cast in Schwartzman, Whalberg, and Hoffman make it believable and enjoyable.
