I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell is a movie based on the book of the same name. The book, I wasn't familiar with it until I saw the movie, is a compilation of supposedly true short stories about drinking. The book was on the best seller list for a while, but the movie won't be.

It's a limited release movie that is actually pretty good. It's not American Pie or The Hangover good, but it's pretty entertaining and plenty funny. It starts off really good, and there is a desperately lame part of the film toward the ending that needed to be changed. During that part they have a scene that is unfunny, where it shouldn't fail at any level. It's a guy who has to poop real bad. How can you not make that funny? It can be done, and is in this movie. I think they were trying to insert a sad, serious moment (just before the pooping scene), and that's where they failed on a pretty large scale. The ending picks back up and saves what almost had me let down by Beer.

The only actor that is really recognizable is Jesse Bradford, but he usually does small parts. Everyone does well playing their roles, and for such a low budget movie, the casting was really good.

Boobs, beer and wild times, besides the poorly done part to this movie, it's good. You'll find lots of laughs, but you'd be better served waiting to see it on a movie channel than passing on other movies that are out and seeing this in theaters.
