Review of I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell (2009) by A A — 26 Aug 2009
I came into the theater with very high expectations, and I have to say they were met. This is not only extremely funny, but an all-around good movie. It has everything you would expect of a Tucker Max movie, and more: this is one of the few comedies I have ever seen whose humor doesn't rely on ridiculous situations that require you to suspend disbelief (such as the whole tiger subplot in The Hangover); the main characters are multi-dimensional and unique; the two strongest, most meaningful characters in the movie are female; everything about the movie is realistic and believable; the sentimental parts aren't awkwardly corny and forced; the dialogue is sharp and witty.
This movie is just different and much more original than other movies in its genre. I would highly recommend it. Go see it if you aren't someone who is easily offended.
