Review of I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell (2009) by George C — 20 Sep 2009
I read this book and thought there would be no way you could make a movie that wouldn't be completely offensive and disgusting and then I remembered that that was the reason I read the book in the first place.
The movie opens with one of my top 5 moments from the book and does not stop in delivering laugh after laugh. Tucker Max manages to weave several of his famous stories into an adapted "Austin Road Trip" story to make one of the funniest 99 minutes I've spent in a theater.
The finest moment comes just toward the end of the movie with a very "theatrical" depiction of the Embassy Suites Lobby scene. Seeing this movie gives me even more appreciation for the life that is Tucker Max.
I sincerely look forward to your follow up, Assholes Finish First.
