Review of I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell (2009) by Ryan S — 27 Sep 2009
This movie goes for cheap laughs and occasionally succeeds, but not nearly enough to warrant your time.
If you read the audience reviews reviews, you'll see that this is a galvanizing movie - either love it or hate it. I would distinguish those who loved this movie as follows: If I recorded myself punching an old woman in the face, they would think it was hilarious. Those that didn't like this movie probably wouldn't appreciate that either.
If you ignore the "funny" delivery, some of the stuff that's said in this movie is so horrible it's uncomfortable to sit through.
It's easy to divorce yourself from it - it's just a movie - but I think knowing that a real Tucker Max resembling the character in the movie makes me wish I hadn't thrown a dollar his way.
