Review of I Give It a Year (2013) by Matt A — 04 Jul 2013
This is actually rather enjoyable, if it does have nearly every cliché under the sun imbedded in its structure. The premise is very believeable a couple get married after not knowing eachother that long and the cracks of the marriage begin and it basically charts the first year of their marriage.
Stephen Merchant is quite funny in his limited role as the best friend and its a shame he had very limited screen time. Always welcome to have Anna Faris back on the big/small screen. and in less of a ridiculous film (My Super Ex Girlfriend and The Dictator).
The only things that I didn't enjoy was the structure of the film, it is too constricted to the romantic comedy formula, so you know what will happen at the end which takes any real surprise away from it, however it is funny and has some very good performances.
Worth a rent.
