Review of I, Frankenstein (2014) by Colton C — 07 Jan 2015
This was dreadful and I don't even know where to begin explaining why....here goes.
Okay, #1. The casting director should never work in Hollywood again. Aaron Eckhart as Frankenstein ' s monster was as believable as Billy Bob Thornton playing a care bear. This wasn't exactly low budget either, so I think they could have done better, way better. And Bill Nighy, shame on you.
The story was weak and time periods didn't blend together well. We go from 17th century to present day almost immediately with no real explanation or even a buffer or lead up, all of a sudden you just find yourself saying out loud, wtf is going on here, did I miss something? Yes, I missed something....continuity.
One of the fighting scenes was decent, purely computer animated. guess that's where the budget went.
The quasi love story was weak and lacked pretty much everything required for that sort of a sub plot. no chemistry, no dialogue, no point.....it did slightly tie into the into the ending but it didn't work well, in fact, you may catch yourself in the reflection of your TV making a really stupid face while simultaneously shaking your head. That was me for the majority of this movie actually.
So yeah, this was not something I would ever watch again, I hope I don't have nightmares about it later.
