Review of I, Frankenstein (2014) by Michael P — 13 Jun 2015
Victor Frankenstein did create a monster in the Victorian period, a monster named Adam who becomes caught in the middle of a secret war between demons and gargoyles.
There seems to be one every year, a supernatural action film that is a terrible movie. Hansel & Gretel Witch Hunters (2013), and the Underworld movies to name a few. This film is pretty similar to Underworld, using some of the same extras and Bill Nighy as the villain. When it comes to movies like this, you don't care about the plot or character development, you just want to see some bloody violence. I, Frankenstein is pretty tame, as the supernatural creatures just flare up when killed.
After watching this film I just wanted to watch Gargoyles (1994), an excellent animated series that has gargoyles with interesting characteristics and better fight scenes, or read Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (1818) which is an excellent novel that this film alludes to, although it doesn't earn the privilege. You already know if you want to watch this film, and if you actually do I recommend just watching Underworld again.
