Not a great movie - but I'd not expected it to be. Had I been 8-12 I'd probably have thought if was ace. Parallels to franchises like Underworld are easy to draw substituting gargoyles and Demons for Werewolves Vampires and throwing in a dash of Frankenstein's monster.
