Based on the initial reviews, I did not think I was going to like it, but I found myself laughing time and time again. I do not always like her stand up, but Amy Schumer really went all in for the physical comedy scenes.
No matter the genre, for me to like a movie, I have to care about the characters, and I was completely cheering for her. Michelle Williams was hilarious and almost unrecognizable. I expected a raunchy, uncomfortable, dirty comedy like Blockers, but there were delightfully clean jokes and physical comedy scenes which surprised me.
If you liked Miss Congeniality, you'll like this movie.
